First Day of School! First Day of School!

'Ello again!
Today was the first day back to school after winter break and I can already tell it's going to be a grrrrrrrrrreat semester.  I have a 3d class this spring so I'm super excited to start working with the computer!  Here are some sketches from today's adventures:

Yesterday I went on an excursion with my fellow animation slash illustration classmates for my friends birthday to multiple Santa Cruz beaches for some fun in the winter sun. While doing so I was able to draw this picture:

That's all for today, I now have to go back and tend to my laundry which is ghetto rigged with a space heater and hung out to dry in my bathroom cause the dryers don't work in my apartment building.

Aquarium Day!

Hey there gang!
So a couple of days ago I got to hang out with the Shrunken Head Man gang at the Monterey Bay Aquarium to sketch the fishes.  It was a beautiful day even though it was a bit cold.  Here are some drawings from the day:

For this picture we were in the deep ocean exhibit with the really cool just wall of glass to see the fishes.  All the people standing in front of it were just silhouettes when I took a picture it looked really cool with the blue tank in front of them.  I took a couple pictures and added the people together at the bottom of the page.

I also took some pics of the beautiful sunset that we saw before we went home.

all in all it was a great day!

Palace of Fine Arts

Yesterday my family and I went to SF to explore the exploratorium. I don't remember ever going there but my dad says otherwise.  I think I would have remembered the marvelous Palace of the Fine Arts.  Anyways we ate lunch there near the lake and just had to pull out my sketchbook.  

Also I thought I'd post some sketches from last week of some people.  My last day with my figure drawing class I got to talk one on one with Sheldon Borenstien, my teacher, and he talked to me about how to draw like an animator: don't pick up the pencil, what is the story, capture the gesture.  So I took his advice and tried that out with these guys.

Bad Blogger

So, I've decided that I'm the worst blogger ever.  My last post was way before finals even started and I haven't been putting up any of the work from my classes or from myself.  Yeah.  Fail.

Now that it's winter break I now have time for updating social networking sites every five minutes and drawing.  Two very important things.  Now for the reason for this blog in the first place, my drawings.  Over Christmas I got a tablet and decided that I would spent my month of January breaking it in and learning the ropes.  I decided to copy some works as studies to get the hang of working in photoshop and using the pen tablet.  My first study that I started yesterday was my brothers Batman 'Arkham City' Xbox cover.
